Brenda Kelly

Brenda Kelly is the owner of Yoga Blossom LLC and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 (registered yoga teacher) and a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Certified Education Provider).

She teaches yoga to children, older adults, and all ages in-between and at all levels of experience, from adaptive (wheelchair) yoga to advanced vinyasa (power flow).

She is a partner with SilverSneakers and Renew Active and offers chair yoga classes to those who qualify.

 

She is a PaddleFit Basic and Stoked Yogi SUP (stand up paddle board) Yoga Certified Coach. She was also certified through Connected Warriors in Trauma Sensitive Yoga.

Brenda lives in Mandeville, LA with her husband and daughter. She loves spending time in the sun and on the water, swimming, paddle boarding, sun bathing, reading, painting, and solving puzzles.

Johnston

Johnny Johnston has been practicing yoga since 2009 after completing his service in the United States Marines Corps. He has been studying Iyengar Yoga since 2012 and became a CIYT (Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher) after four rigorous years and thousands of hours of study under his mentor and senior Iyengar teacher Randy Just. He sought yoga to help with his mental, emotional, and physical well-being initially but it has become the foundation for his spiritual journey in the Bhakti Tradition.

Johnny lives in a tiny house with his partner Caroline and his two children Emmett (2) and Hazel (1).

Through years of dedicated and consistent practice, Johnny has been able to develop an incredible degree of sensitivity that creates a profound experience in each Asana, transforming the practice into a meditation in action. In the beginning, in Iyengar yoga, we pay close attention to detail in the physical form of poses called Asanas. Through intense and consistent practice of these asanas, one can begin to experience the different energetic layers of the body, called Koshas. Through the alignment of the body, over time, leads one to the awareness and alignment of the Koshas.  Johnny pays attention to detail for each of his students and is able to offer modifications for all asanas(poses). His priority in the classroom is safety but also encourages students to challenge themselves. We go through a wide range of poses focusing heavily on inversions and back extensions in every class. You can expect Johnnys classes to be challenging, yet inspiring.

Rusca

Christina Rusca completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Spring 2021 where she focused particularly on yin and restorative practices.

 

Christina has maintained a regular yoga practice for over six years. She also incorporates meditation, breathwork, and ayurvedic lifestyle practices, striving for health and balance in her life. She is passionate about continuing her education and deepening her practice, often attending workshops and retreats locally, regionally, and abroad. Christina plans to obtain her 300-hour yoga teacher training, and she is currently enrolled in the Dharma Coaching Institute where upon completion she will hold a double certification as a Dharma Certified Coach and Spiritual Life Coach.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southeastern Louisiana University where she majored in Liberal Arts with a Music Concentration.

 

Christina lives in Mandeville with her husband of 20 years, Ralph, and her spoiled throwback Pomeranian, da Vinci. Her daughter Ainsley, 19, is a sophomore at Northwestern University in Natchitoches. Christina has worked in the mortgage industry since 2004, and she is currently a Sales Manager and Loan Consultant at loanDepot in Covington. She is licensed in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Georgia and ranks in the top 75 lenders in St. Tammany Parish. Yoga is instrumental in helping her to maintain a healthy work life balance, and she practices gratitude in that intention both on and off the mat.

Sofia Bolin

Sofia Bolin is a Yoga and Meditation teacher, an Expressive Arts facilitator, and Board Certified Health Coach. Sofia is dedicated to supporting her students in their individual quest for self inquiry and self mastery. She loves the teachings of Kundalini Yoga as it supports us in the refinement of our energies, helps us purify our emotions and cultivates mental clarity and calm.
